Digging a New Well

We finally bit the bullet and started digging our own well. Before this momentous occasion, the tasting room and the caretakers home were getting water from a cistern that was filled twice a month from a well about 20 acres away. Now, for those of you city dwellers who don't know what a cistern is, let me tell you all about it.
A cistern is a large underground cement holding tank that water is pumped into. That water, coming from who knows how far away, is then pumped into the house/tasting room. This is the water that is used for everything from drinking water, to washing water to gardening water. Needless to say..................
